Svikarokti Foundation, Inc. is pleased to announce that it was one of the recipients of the Dinesh Chamling Smriti Youth Puraskar 2025 on August 30 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Along with the honor, the award includes a cash prize of $5,001. Svikarokti Foundation, Inc. was first announced as the recipient during the 6th Grand International Creative Ceremony held in The Hague earlier this year. In addition to the recognition, the award also comes with a cash prize of $5,001. Svikarokti Foundation, Inc. was first introduced as the awardee during the 6th Grand International Creative Ceremony in The Hague earlier this year. Speaking about the family’s choice, Naren Chamling said that they picked the foundation in light of its contribution to the cause of peace, harmony, and the propagation of the new thought of Svikarokti. He also added that “It is our duty to acknowledge and motivate all such progressive efforts emerging from the grassroots and embodying the spirit of love, justice and equity.”
Established by Naren Chamling and his Chamling family, the award is given in memory of Dinesh Chamling, a poet and a social worker. The award recognizes those working in the fields of literature, social service, and uplifting the world. The award recipients from previous years include the well-known social worker and journalist Ramesh Goutam and the literary figure Dr. Mahesh Dahal from Darjeeling.
Our president, Denzome Sampang, who received the award on behalf of the organization, extended the organization’s deepest gratitude to the Chamling family for honoring Svikarokti’s mission and vision that promotes peace, equality, and good health and well-being for all on the path of acceptance. The award ceremony and reception was a memorable event as it brought together many renowned writers and poets, social leaders, and members of the Bhutanese-Nepali community. The award serves as an acknowledgment of Svikarokti Foundation, Inc. works and provides the further inspiration to continue its work of spreading acceptance, harmony, and positive change throughout the world.
