The Svikarokti Global Tour 2023 reached its highlight in Guwahati, Assam, where celebrated writer Lil Bahadur Chettri was honored with the Svikarokti Siddhi Puraskar. The award, which included a cash prize of NPR 600,000, was presented at a special ceremony held at the Prag Continental Sabha Hall.

The event was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Vimal Nibha of Nepal Pragya Pratisthan and attended by many well-known literary and cultural figures, including Prof. Dr. Govindraaj Bhattarai, language commissioners, writer-activists, and other community leaders.

The award was jointly presented by Denzome Sampang, founder of the Svikarokti Philosophy, and Karna Gurung, international coordination and program lead of the Svikarokti Foundation. Their presence highlighted the philosophy’s commitment to honoring contributions that strengthen unity and acceptance.
Chettri, originally from Assam, has earned wide recognition among Nepali-speaking readers through works such as Basaai and Brahmaputra Ko Chheu-Chhau. He is also a recipient of Padma Shree, the fourth-highest civilian award of India.
